You ask will I always love you
at least until the day I die?
Will our love live on forever?
I can only promise...maybe.

You ask will the world always endure
will the sun rise day by day?
Will it go on for eternity?
I can only promise...maybe.

You ask will hatred and bias end
will we learn to trust each other?
Let knowledge teach forever?
I can only answer...maybe.

You ask will self destruction stop
will drugs and alcohol decline
until they no longer rule as king?
I can only answer...maybe.

You ask will we ever find peace
will mankind lay down their arms
and let love reign forever?
I can only sigh and answer...maybe.
