Poems - Come Rain or Shine

Come Rain or Shine

When the day is grey and glum,
And there’s no sign of Mr. Sun,
Does it make you sad?

When the rain is coming down,
And it makes you wear a frown,
Do you feel bad?

When you can’t go outside,
But there’s your bike you want to ride,
Does it make you mad?

When you’re tired of the telly,
Why not just put on your jacket and wellys,
And still run outside to play.

You might get a little wet,
You might even still fret,
But you can still have fun without Mr. Sun.

You can drink up raindrops with your tongue,
Just like the flowers and the trees have done,
It can tickle your eyelashes as you jump in all the puddles.

You see, the rain is just a juice,
For thirsty trees and flowers to use,
Who drink the rain like us, when we get thirsty.

The rain helps them grow up tall and strong,
So to the trees, this lovely rain is needed and belongs,
Without it they’d go brown instead of stay green and pretty.

So let’s be glad for the rain,
Next time it fall’s on our window pane,
And thank God that He waters all our plants.

And when it’s raining outside,
There’s still a sun to find,
If you invite Jesus into your heart.
His sun will melt your frown and turn it upside down,
When you make Jesus your sunshine!
