The hypnotist

The hypnotist comes for you;
his eyes are bulging and
he knows what you want.
In his sack he carries
smoke and mirrors and
a big gun. One bullet
will suffice to kill you
as you sit there trying to translate
his quivering lips. And your flesh is torn
before he even begins. On a trail
littered with dead warriors
the hypnotist sings lullabies
and learns the language of embryos.

This is an intriguing piece of writing. I'd be interesting in figuring out what your muse is. I especially liked the last line.

Fascinating read Rory, I think I understand where you are coming from with it, the last few lines are very effective and profound.
