lost

by omegapaf

lost in misunderstandings we drift in the dark.
alone, we walk in the rain in the park.
our only comfort is a friendly hound dog bark.

just have another drink.
and forget that we ever learned how to think.
nobody listens when i'm teetering on the brink.

yeah, yeah, yeah poetry is all so important.
no, it fucking ain't.
losing your house and having no money isn't fucking quaint.

the world falls to bits around us.
oh! but we must not make any fuss.
another soul burned....time for the bus.

The streets are filled with empty faces, nothing here is new.
It’s just the same in other places I have journeyed to.
I was the first across the water, the last across the land.
I walked out of the silver mine, my pockets full of sand.
Alone inside my head, alone inside my room.
I feel alone inside my head, alone inside my tiny little world.

such powerful images I could see the scene as it unfolded and smell the rain. the poem draws the reader into the setting. sadly losing ones house has become a common every day occurrence here in the states. Foreclosure is seen more than for sale.
