When The Dreamer Awakens

The world melts while we cry
tears as cold as winter rain,
The seeker prowls the night
looks for souls that wander out
into the mist and fog.
We stumble and we fall
as the path dissolves away,
no solid ground to place our feet
we tumble into space,
try to hold on to each others hand
but lose our grip on the reality
we thought was ours.
There was no yesterday,
there is no tomorrow,
today is just a fantasy.
We do not live in the here and now
there is no substance or proof
we ever existed here at all.
When the dreamer awakens
from his long deep slumber
will we cease to be?

This is kind of scary but I have often wondered this myself. Are we real or are we part of someone's imagination or just in another persons dream and do we exist only in this other world. Excellent poem that leaves the reader feeling just a bit unsettled.

This poem stirs so much wild thoughts and may rouse segregational opinion yet perception holds each of us firmly to what we feel we are. I adore the feel you created with this piece Bonnie. Great write

i just kind of wonder who the DREAMER might be/? yes and yet a good question to ask ones self i to kinda feel in the same as the poem at times,
my live feels like it goes in chapters one is opened and then another ones closes some things in my life i cant remember at all and other things stand out so bold and tall and somethings i feel might have been just a dream never did any of it happen..am i by myself here does any body feel this way? well i cant answer that but just do no how insane i feel at times good write makes a fellow have to stop and think thank you for posting this poem i will think on this one for some time
