And so there I was hovering somewhere mid air
If air that be, but it was not, but that thingy
seemed to have a tummy that was a balloon,
now up, now down, now up, now down
as it gazed through the porthole of that rusty ship
that had hauled us off course, and in there was Rex
awake and alarmed, rushing about and seemed to shout
and thingy was watching mesmerized, and shoved itself
a little aside to allow me space, Thingy no eat me, Thingy no bite me
Thingy look and move, and then see see see, what it could see
Thingy with balloon tummy and glowing smile, I caught its arm
or something like that, and shook it warily, and said,
“Say Thingy, friends?”, and held up a high five
Thingy looked at me, then my hand, then me and did that
It held up its arm thingy and did its high, only
Gosh molly golly, it held up its arm and there was an army
Of creepy crawly, golly wolly something waving around,
Thank heavens, Thingy did not what a high five was all about
Speaking of which, what heavens are these that I gaze at
from the somewhere over here out to somewhere over there
what stars pine the night skies in such a dazzle of isotope
wait, are those three, not one, not two, but three suns
and what of day and night, what of first star in the fright
what about wanting to be there with friends, back where
creepy crawly cannot nudge my arm, eeeeeeek, eeeeeek
eeeekeeeeeeekeeeeeeeek, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk

Oh, all the excitement and anticipation of meeting new friends in way out there outer space... Tee-hee, great tingling fingertips - I'm not too sure I'd have been brave enough to reach out and touch it, LOL!
