The Future

THE FUTURE
[A Gift of Life, You Are]

I
There will always be a dream,
Perhaps not a dream but a wish
To live in memories of past
Cozy moments that once did seem
Prisoner in a bowl, as a fish
A simple joy that did not last

II
But who can stop the clock
Of life that’s running past
River in which we’re tiny rock
Stumbling in time going by fast
And who can say about its trend
Or what is, for Heavens sakes, its end.

III
No one can say “I see the future”
If blindly walks in life each day
Guessing actions, wrong or right
Within a was-and-will-be suture
On wounds of awareness washed away
By blooming knowledge into brighter light

IV
That is the question my dear
For if the past is door that shuts
Behind each step one hopefully takes;
It is gone, but the Future is near
Through thin Present that cuts
All actions, dichotomy of time God makes.

V
The uncertain Future, ocean vast
Surrenders to Knowledge obtained
Through joyful learning carefully cast
In tools of life intentionally maintaned
Though nothing can from past return
Life is not for anyone to live it there
And the present is just and instant turn
For always; Life is a future act, anywhere.
