close to the Devine

close to the Divine

Let's join together our two hearts
Your's and my invisible parts

I reflect upon Your hidden eyes
that say what soul can not disguise
from dark of dusk to sunny rise
but sometimes feel that I'm apart

I walk Your valleys and Your hills
are we together in our wills
or am I just escaping chills
of doubt that stab me through like darts?

though I try for syncopation
I'm left standing at the station
while You enjoy a vacation
but in my heart a prayer will start

I seek a sense of Your prescene,
feel Your Spirit's effervescence,
become free of my excrescence-
come to agreement in our hearts

pray, bring Your being close to me
and let me see what You can see
so we can find the way to be
close when near and close apart
