The oak tree

by Essex68

I planted an Oak tree
Never thought it would grow
Placed mesh to protect its tender stem
It bore leaf in spring
But that was long ago
I should visit that sacred place
Once more

I grew up in the shadow of an oak tree, such a messy thing it was - leaves all over the place in autumn....it must be pretty old by now...I wonder if it's still there?..Smile Phoebe

G'day Wayne...
Mate, years ago, I helped a widow clean up under her she-oak forest in autumn. The leaves were three foot deep; her spouting couldn't be seen, and my compost heap was ten feet high. So there's a thinking start of what your oak tree may be like.
Catch you Wayne
