a place of peace

a place of peace

my home is a little place of peace
a sanctuary that suits me fine
warm and cozy and wrapped in fleece

but I can leave to get release
and shop for your bottle of wine
or vacation in Rome or Greece

a hermit's peace without a cease
may portray an unhealthy sign
of imminent and sad decease

so I leave and follow the geese
who never fly in a straight line
and I leave behind my valise

peace should rise in us like a yeast
not a sharp sour dough of the mind
that etches out the forehead's crease-
I like my little place of peace!
