Rest awhile, strong warrior
stay a little longer please
let me hold you for tonight
take my heart for respite

In the cool night air I breathe
surrounded by every memory
of what it means to love and lose
and live with the ache inside of you

Sometime soon you have to leave
nothing ever lasts forever
but everyone needs an angel
so darling take my hand

I'll support you, give you my best
give you something you need
take what I offer, and let it nourish
when you go on your way again

Precious memories will see you through
the dark nights when you are alone
of a warm embrace, with no restraint
easing the pain of "lonely"

I'm the wandering angel, searching
for the ones who need a light
let me bring you back to life
for the missions that lie ahead

No, nothing lasts forever
these moments will eventually fade
but sweet soldier I will watch over you
until our time meets its end

I'm your guardian angel
sent to let you know
that you are worthy of honor
