Follow me Ruth

She laid her glasses on the table
Said “I will not need these no more”
Then Pierrpoint walk into the room
And she followed through the door

From condemned cell, to the hanging room
Twelve seconds is all it took
And an eight foot drop straight through the floor
To kill this girl from Rhyl

Ruth Ellis was the last woman to be executed in the UK in 1955. Albert Pierrpoint was the executioner.

    Hello Karen, In short she shot her two timing lover. Wikipedia has a page about her. and there's also a film called "Dance with a stranger" There has always been a debate whether she ever should of been executed because some say she was insane at the time.
