Poems - Nature's Warning
| | Nature's Warningby Phoebe
Beautiful, just beautiful! the view before my eyes
Across a field of wildflowers, a million butterflies
Beauty indescribable, under a summer sun
A masterpiece that only God could possibly have done
The wonders of our natural world are struggling to survive
And yet when viewing scenes like this so real and alive
One ponders on the reasons just how quickly things can change
Why man forever feels the need to always rearrange
He’s messed up our environment, it needs serious protection
He cannot leave things well alone but tampers with perfection
People since the dawn of time have managed to exist
I doubt the internet and such would ever have been missed
Most peoples of the world today are skeletal or fat
Change in the name of progress has contributed to that
Our rainforests and our oceans, our rivers and our streams
Will be for generations coming only found in dreams
If things continue as they are some things will disappear
Already things have declined like our quality of air
But Nature and her Powers that be are stronger than we know
Those natural disasters that kill millions surely show
Her anger finally showing comes from centuries of abuse
Her universal warning is; you fuck with me, you lose!

Wow! good for you Chris, I loved Uni, I was glad when 4 years of study and exams were over but the whole Uni culture is something that has embedded itself in my soul and I just loved it. I want to do my PhD but one of my friends has just completed hers and it's been 10 years - I think I'll work towards an honorary by writing and doing something meaningful - a colleague, now in her 60's has just been given one so I'll use her blueprint... ...you're never, repeat NEVER too old to learn my friend Phoebe

you're absolutely right, never too old to learn...i love the whole uni culture as well; being embedded in academia is heaven to me. i'm looking at some grad schools on the eastern seaboard here that have semester-abroad programs in Britian and France, the dual subjects of my study focus on 17th and 18th century British and French Empires. imagine a whole year abroad in Europe studying manuscripts and visiting libraries extraordinaire! i can't wait! and you, my friend, are certainly deserving of that honorary degree

G'day Phoebe...
Another stylish warning from you in a well written poem. Mother Nature is a very patient lady who never loses a battle.
Thank you Phoebe
