Though years have passed I linger still
Where once I cast the days my will
Alone forlorn for now I wait
For time whispers my knowing fate
I knew the wants of childhood play
Reaching out soiled hands held sway
I cried for that, that others had
To bed I dreamed, were I that lad
I cursed at them that have it all
For life’s a whore and I its fall
She walked the way and I her side
With dirty mind sought her pride
Upon ugly streets and mongrel art
In human form they haunt the walk
And I were cast upon the way
Where needs and sins steal the day
Youth spills fast his wont of need
Shadowed in its lust and greed
And I wonder at the wonders now
That life I lived and lived so foul
Now it came; I reached my high
I found true love; cast away the lie
For there my need my wont of life
She came to me, became my wife
