fledgling

by omegapaf

" despite all my rage, i'm still just a rat in a cage " - bullet with butterfly wings - the smashing pumpkins.

little sparrows are nesting in a hole in my back wall
it's safe from pussy cats and very tall

no matter where you are in the world
i can still hear you when you smile
i accidentally ran the longest mile
down life's track i was hurled

now it's all uphill just to get back to where i started
the hill looks so steep. i need a ride in a jeep
can't we take it all back to the begining........before i was startled.

" you can never ever leave, without removing a piece of me " - tonight tonight - the smashing pumpkins.

This is so melancholy. There is always hope. Look at the birds nesting in your back wall. They will be happy and survive. That climb...well you'll find that jeep.

a pity that i can't drive. guess i'll have to hitchike back to the top of the hill. the little sparrows have hatched. i can hear their cheeping when i put my ear to the wall....i'm gonna call them " the hole in the wall gang ". remember " butch cassidy and the sundance kid "? ha ha - strangely there is a smashing pumpkins album called " mellon collie and the infinate sadness " - foxy and the rampant hound.

looking at my note book, i don't know how i got this together. most of it is written on the back of a shopping list, while i was shopping.

i was tempted to write the second verse on jessicas belly when i ran out of paper while walking her....but i behaved myself ha ha.

G'day Paul...
Keep struggling uphill mate but don't try and get there too quick, 'cause once you reach the top and start going downhill...that's when things go really quick. By the way, there's an abundance of sparrows here if you need any more. Would you prefer the house or tree variety...and...for each pair you can have a dozen Indian Mynah's, and a kiss from our Prime Minister.
