It's jubilee (And Iv'e had enough)

Its jubilee and I’ve had enough, I’m sick of waving flags.
Snotty kids and street parties, country fairs and this and that
Can’t people see its all commercial, just another big gimmick
When there’s austerity and poverty it really makes me sick

How much did those boats cost? That flotilla down the Thames
All this pomp and ceremony when will it bloody end?
The Queen she hasn’t done much for us, just a longer weekend gap
So I might just head down to the pub, then have a nice afternoon nap

But even then I can’t escape, there’s flags and bunting there
Mums and dads in silly hats, getting drunk and spilling beer
Even my roast dinner was served with a union jack
The Queens face on my serviette how bloody sad is that?

So I might as well surrender, now their singing God save the Queen
Another beer is what I need or I’ll just stand here and scream
Now maybe you think I’m grouchy? But I’m not a royalist
So I’ll blow my chance of being laureate, with this poem without a twist

ha ha ha. i thought it was just me wayne. 6 hours of watching boats go down a river on every channel...it was even on the radio....boats on the radio???? i've got the jubilee concert on in the background.....not sure if i'm gonna survive it ha ha - paul and queen hound.

Bugger it! I missed the whole show...shame. But...we're having the queens birthday this weekend. Her invitation appears to have been lost in the mail again...sigh.
