I Want To Be

What is it that I want to be
I look at life up close
I want to be the best friend ever
That's what I want the most

I want to be the voice that's at
the other end of the call
at two in the morning being there
When there's no sleep at all

I want to be the one yelled at
to take out life's frustration
to listen, love and never judge
when life is no vacation.

I want to be there when you smile
and share your happiness.
Pray with you and hold your hand
in all that you are blessed.

I want to be there always
on me you can depend
when times are tough you've had enough
when you need a friend.

with my heart to yours
kiss your cheek tenderly and softly
walk and talk in the sand
holding hands and share secrets
be there for you as you are me
in you I have found true friendship
