The Ghost In My Guitar

Although I cannot play
I have this guitar that I keep
And although I cannot play
I hear it howl in my sleep

As if something wants to emerge
As if something wants to be heard
But I cannot find the patience or the time to play or ever learn

Sometimes I pick it up and loosen my grip
Wanting so desperately to find the
Rhythm in this human ghost relationship

The desire of my tormented temptation cannot go away
All I want is to play
To create something out of nothing and for my notes to say
What my inner emotions cannot portray

A simple melody would satisfy me
A simple stroke of rhythmic beat
A simple tune to set my ghost free
