Decisions

Decisions
I have walked through the valley of fire.
The water falls turns to steam.
My skin burns from my egregious mistakes.
What and who will come to save me.
Just as my flesh sloughs off my hands.
Please do not touch me for I am soiled.
I am soiled because of the troubled epiphanies of who I am.
The valley of fire does not discriminate.
It will devour those who self-hate.
Hate because I think I cannot make mistakes.
Hate because I make those mistakes.
Please do not touch me because I will affect who you are.
My skin that drops to the ground is contagious, so please burn it.
I do not want to contaminate your goodness, so please move on.
The valley of fire is where I belong.
Whether I am good or bad does not equate the reason for my destination.
My destination since birth has been carved in stone.
Because this is my penance for doing what is right and what is wrong.
