Me, Myself, and I

Me, Myself, and I

Ten bedraggled and arthritic metacarpals begin to type.
While my broken body molds itself into the mattress and boxed springs.
Upon four white stained walls inspiration berates my lethargy.
The ferns, palms and bromeliads taste the tears from the banana plant that weeps.
The beauty of the rose breasted cockatoo preening; I have captured nature.
Upon my bed four furry friends lay until I decide to thrive.
While the continuous sound of the waterfall convinces me that I am still alive.
Pictures of younger days stare back at me with an evil grin.
Oh, if I could only jump back into them.
Yet as if I am a sadomasochist; I saunter off the bed and meditate.
So starts the end to another day in my life.

Very effective concrete imagery, quite unsettling. Some excellent phrases like "inspiration berates my lethargy". Well done.
