Gleaning From Your Streams

Gleaning From Your Streams

Syllables drool from my mouth
As I study poetries curves
Soft flowing locks of comely thoughts
With trance evoking words

Caressing me gently with rhythms
And kissing my ears with rhyme
Completely enamored with limerick’s stammer
And infatuated with villanelle’s lines

To read the heart of a poet
And hear their inner most thought
To test comprehension arrest my attention
By riddle and parable I’m caught

Show me your world dear poets
So unfamiliar and strange
To further my knowledge in poetic college
And increase vocabularies range

With pens whisper sweet nothings
On keyboards tap out my yearn
From angry and bent to warm sentiment
Perhaps between them I’ll learn

Meet my insatiable hunger
For literature live and to date
I’m marking the time between each of your rhymes
And for odes I impatiently wait
