Just A Bit Of Doggerel

by Pujakins

I've a bounty of time
So how do I decide
What to wish for, to take, or refuse.
My wonder is this
Just what will I miss
Whatever I choose to choose.

I sit in my chair
Turning first here, then there,
As flummoxed as I can be
For my timely conundrum
Is far worse than humdrum
Until I have riddled the fee.

As the moments tick by
With incredible speed
I dither and thither away
So that when sets the sun
that has been all my fun
With naught else resulting that day.

Interesting piece. I learned three words from this poem. Thanks, Tasha! What did you mean by "thither" though? My dictionary says it means:
To or toward that place: "trickery that attracted him thither".
Maybe there is another meaning somewhere. I can sense your whimsical heartbeat in this poem. You have a heart that never stops beating for human people, and it shows even in the faintest idea of being "unable to choose."

Hi Sweet Sammi, I was having fun with dither and thither, and what you might infer is that I dither and start out thither, (to there) then dither again and thither I go somewhere else, only to dither again, etc. It's a silly piece, meant to amuse. I do love playing with words, as do you! Hugs and Blessings, Tasha

lol! oh yes! what a great poem! a place we have all been from time to time. finally have that time to do things we've been complaining about not having and then we dither it away trying to decide what to do with it! love it!

Most of my stuff is doggerel. I think it's OK to have days that are "unproductive". Just as important to be as to do. Best to you, Tasha, from Bob

It was nothing for me when I was young
to work twelve hours a day
now I doodle and dawdle
and waist my life away
have a grand tomorrow…Jack Wink

A very enjoyable read. Thanks Tasha.
