Deliverance

Deliverance

Sitting in a wheelchair with my feet encased in concrete
Knowing I can’t move anymore that this is my last chore
The flower slowly wilting as the singer sings the last song
People asking do you regret anything you did wrong
Upon the mountain the people take their place
The jester wheeling me toward the movie to don my fate
The bird on a twig whistling a pallid poem
The wheels stuck in the mud while the jester inspects the tomb
Knowing this is the last chance for me to rise above
Fracturing the concrete with last beat of blood
I fly
