Sharing her Love

Sharing her Love

I was standing there
Alone with him and her
He was leaving for long, I sensed
My mind was blank, my body tensed,
Grasping feelings of when a relation ends
I searched for words that appease friends

Hey you old man; yes, you my friend,
If I may call you friend, at my young age;
You have something I love, my end,
I am the hope of her life, my heritage;
That I’d let you have, yes, for long I did.
You thought it yours, but was mine also, indeed

It is your wife, old man; I love her dearly
But you are my friend, now my best.
The time has come, I see it clearly,
It brings you gently a long lasting rest
So let me take her from you, and let us be
Let her roam the rest of her way with me.

Farewell, old man; my best friend is you
I love her deeply, but I love you too.
And I tell you once more, to make you happy, not mad,
I love your wife; for us both, there is no other
Go in peace, I’ll care for her, my dear dad.
I love your wife, my life, my loving mother.
I’ll care for her, my old man, do not be sad.
And as he slowly and lonely turned on his path, away
I took my ailing mother and walk with her each day.

I must provide for my little sister and my mother
I must be strong, my promise… I cannot decline
I am all they have; there is no other
Oh, please, help me my God, I am only nine.
