Poems - Dandelion

Dandelion

Dandelion

The breeze blows upon the dandelion seeds.
They are lofted into the air.
Upon the wind they travel.
That is until gravity takes over and they fall.
Below the ground the seeds hibernate.
As so they awake from their slumber
Slowly the flowers plow through that what has kept them under.
They break the bonds and are greeted by the sun.
Salutations to the warmth of spring they say.
The florets create a bright golden yellow sight.
Yet if it rains, the brightness closes in fright.
Eventually the circle slowly comes toddling around.
And a child’s simple breath sends them floating asunder.
