Angel Eyes

I held your body in my arms
my life was full of pain and lies
they took you from me in the night
too soon to lose my angel eyes.
Pressed in my scrapbook pages
a little wreath of angel breath
a sad reminder of what I lost
your short life, your sad death.
Locked deep within a mothers heart
a love that will never die
no matter how many years that pass
memories of you still make me cry.
The stars still shine each night
the sun rises in the skies
but it's all the same to me
since I lost my Angel Eyes.

the depth of emotion in this is exquisite...and that is the most important part of writing poetry...don't let anyone tell you different....................................michael
