Fords Pool

by NahilaCsemaJ

Fords Pool

Between the seventies through the early eighties this migration happened every year.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day this is where we gathered around.
All it took was a slight tilt of the axis.
And like Wildebeest stampeding the Mara River we created the splashes.
We knew nothing about geometry, so one end was the shallow and the other the deep.
Standing above the deep was the tower and only the brave took the leap.
Twelve foot down we touch the grainy bottom.
As we broke the water’s surface we were conquerors.
Yet for all of us one summer that would change.
We went from not noticing them.
To following them; as if they were the ball and we were the chain.
Our heads were on swivels as we marveled at their hips.
When they lied down it would gather a scene.
We would marvel at their tops and each stroke of their hair.
Making fun of them drifted somewhere in the past; we did not care.
So this was our life from young boys into our teens.
Who would of thought; the memories of Fords Pool would forever be linked to an adults dream.

I think we all had a Fords Pool; and I’m not too old to remember. I enjoyed the ride back in time and the back seat of my old 38 Chevy. Rolling Eyes Have a grand tomorrow…Jack
