The Confluence of James

The Confluence of James

So many times I rode the dragon untamed
Snorting with fire and flame
Thinking I could take and tame it with evanescent reigns.

Always being thrown off
Onto hell I land.
No dogma in my burnt hand.

Crawling through the muck and mire
How many times have I set myself on fire?
Will this insatiable appetite ever expire?

The river in the bottle I have swam
In the old days I swam in a can
Drowning more than just a man.

Smoke rising from my mouth
Philosophizing, my friends stoned
Deciphering ancient unknowns.

The bathroom starts the swell
Having to climb out of my personal hell
Hands bleeding from broken gloze shells.

The swell turns.
Blue instead of brown, green or clear
All the dragons slowly disappear.

Still no Dogma in hand
Yet the confluence of James has began
I see the teachings as a stand.

One river overtakes another.
Clearly this is the path rather than the other
Come swim with me my brothers.
