Sorry, My Mistake!

You ask about my black eye and swollen lip
I acquired them on a recent trip,
visiting England so lovely and sublime
to take in the sites and hear Big Ben Chime,
I stopped at a pub for a pint of ale
and there my friends is where I start my tale,
two very large women were there chatting along
their accents were delightful and quite strong.
Are you two ladies from Scotland I did ask
and one of them quickly took me to task.
It's WALES you idiot she screamed at me
what happened next I could not foresee.
I apologized quickly for my mistake
and amends I did try to make!
Are you two whales from Scotland I asked politely and sweet
Next thing I knew I was on my face in the street.
I'm still not quite sure where I err
but for my apology they just didn't care.

omg! okay to be politically correct I shouldn't laugh at this one, but I have to admit to a guffaw when i reached the end verse.
