Poems - pesky morning birds

pesky morning birds

tweeting in the natural fashion
not like twatters in the digital way,
right out there beyond the bedroom windows
from their condos in the trees---
happy to be alive in the morning &
ready to share it with the world,
belting out their tunes like
terribly terrific lil’ opera singers
announcing to the world
that the day is anew,
preferably just a bit before the rest of
us in the world
would like to be
awakened---
though,
fortunate is the human who gets to be
torn from a positive dream
by the les oiseaux sauvages joyeux,
as some may be forced from sleep by
prison wardens, police sirens, gunshots,
bomb explosions, screams of children,
roaring cars, trucks, subway trains,
planes overhead, an annoying crying baby
or gente molesta cojiendo como conejos,
a wo/man is still allowed to bitch
about these malicious,
mouthy,
menaces---
quietly submitting to the will of the
itty bitty birdies,
one rolls over in bed,
hoping that winter shows its face
quickly,
so those bastards find their way
south,
where they can pester them old rich
retired codgers down in
FL
(in that, there is justice).
