Friendhip Stoned

Friendship Stoned

Slowly delivering a heart of stone
It is not of my making but of yours alone

Trying to settle it within me
I fight to keep this love I have free

The mortar and pestle sit by your side
Your tools that created this darkness inside

Though ropes bound both arms and legs
As I gain freedom, in defeat you bow your head

Your persuasion I no longer abide by
Your heart of stone sits by your side

From your craftsmanship this I have derived.
Though your works of art are irrefutable, your intentions are for me disputable.

For when one has to derive their friendship from stone
This is a friendship to which I will not seek, nor belong.

wonderfully said! yes, there are those who carve their heart of stone and then blame others because they are not loved and cannot love. well done!
