The Den

measureless
this heartful dark
vast blue grey I come
driven today need I see
lupine eyes glow green on
tips of silver mystery greet
me pulled down to scream free
past old treacherous digs we ride
in plain sight out of sight we’ll hide
packed beneath their blind concrete
warm white fur wedged tight between
wide breath cracks hacked underneath
the petrified keeps of terrifying strangers
we lie now found by danger gentled sweet
secrets nested feral deep in sterile ground
