She

She is a fine poet
Amongst the best
Everyday she pulls
Pulls the knife out
With skin and
blood to bear
Then she lays
on the ground
Whispering to herself
Tears streaming
"I who burn in hell"

Each morning she
She awakens
Blood all over her sheet
The spilt red a manifestation
A manifestation of her early birth

The ghosts swoon around her
She is the poet of poets,
Dead to the masses
Yet alive to the underworld

She reads Goethe's treatise on color,
That color was formed by
light upon shadow
As she spilt in red

.... She is a fine poet
Amongst the best
