Forgotten

she knew them
these memories
remembering
their flutter
their white sound

how softly
they hovered
over warm glitter
on summer sand

she stood then
in sunlit silence
let them roll
their pale
powder blue
down her back

and rode them slow
along that black
ancient road
into red again
