Poems - ARMY DAYS

ARMY DAYS

I did not think it was meant to be
but there i was going into the army.
I did my training in a period of time
where i was hoping to shine.

We had done the square bashing
and my feet had took a thrashing
I had got through everything I know
just the passing out parade to go.
Boots highly polished shining bright
uniform pressed and smart.

I knew everything would be alright.
My first three month I have qualified
you must wear the uniform with pride.

After two years my time is done
tomorrow I will be gone

I am going back home to our street
back home to friends i want to meet
