Poems - A Little Bit Country...
| | A Little Bit Country...by wickedone
Even though the weather is cold, its sunny in Montana and the sky commands full attention and it is vast, beautiful and for a moment you are lost in thought.....
When I sit comfy in my bay window I can see forever it seems. All the way to the tip of the white mountainside. One cannot help but get lost in the way the mountain tops touch the crystal clear blue Montana sky. What better place to sit and think about all those things in life that are garbled up in your mind. Taking time to sit alone wonder and really look at your life.
Upon my first visit to this area I felt there was not much to see or to offer here for me. Partly I was wrong for the generosity and kindness of the local people. The city itself reminds me of my own kin from way back when that I miss so much even now. Its hard to find the generosity and style of people from back home, small town living is a lifestyle all its own.
There are certain characteristics or traits that are such a part of you. You don't even think about it until your all grown up somewhere living with I used to call strangers. Why in some towns you can just look around and you kinda feel like you are sorta 'sticking out'.
Being of the Southern nature, I am always drawn to those that can without much conversation just 'understand.' Like second nature you would know what its like to have grown up in a steel town where everyday living was an actual struggle; and looking to the future was not part of the plan.
Yes, I have traveled lots of places. and I do not live where I was born and raised. If you ask me though on any given day, where are you from and what is that accent I can detect? I am quick to defend those of my hometown proud with respect for the people living there. So with pride you will hear me say I am from down South you know Into Virgina right beside Kentucky, via West Virginia way. The food is the best, the people are the friendliest you won't meet a stranger, don't worry if you have car trouble there is always a friend to help somewhere, or you'll find one along the way!

Sounds like a nice place to call home. I feel like I'm home reading this piece. Almost like a really good breakfast commercial. LOL. Just kidding.
