Poems - What The Heart Knows!

Reality is we have but one heart that beats in our chest.
Forever it pounds and at special times gives us no rest.
Torn this way and that hurry up and worry; losing valuable time
loss now and forever, no time for love. What happens now
my heart is heavy, my heart is hurting should I be worried?
Four chambers it has, always in tune to protect our
bodies endless flowing needs. It gives us beautiful life and
we in turn at times only give back worry and strife.
The hearts intense an everyday working miracle in itself.
Then in the corner of your eye you see that "special" someone.
Those stressful feelings that comes along that sets off a chain
reaction throughout and certainly you know of what comes
next and of what I am talking about. Your palms get
sweaty, you suddenly cannot think of the simplest of things.
But the loudest sound you hear is your heart that beautiful thing,
is playing a tune in your ears that sounds like the thump thump
of a drum nevertheless an amateaur. And so it goes love has arrived
and you my friend must sit back and enjoy the ride.
But I say love is worth every feeling and everything
that evolves from the 'fall'. And truth be known the heart
is resilient and with love is capable of handling it all. Patience.
time nurturing is valuable advice for those two lovers of one heart.
Beware the assets of life's interference for true love needs only
the two whatever comes next is only superficial cohesive glue
that can disintegrate over time and fall apart.

I agree 100 percent with ann on the last line. I like to think of it as the litmus test after the first trimester will it still be pink. Great close to a great piece. gg
