Maybe it Means Carnage

I feel a little better today,
And see I’ve ignored you.

What are you doing this evening?
Why have you just given up?
The light in my eyes cant see to you,
But the pain in my heart reaches across.
I see a man with a world so dark,
Who thinks of others before his self.
Consequences of kind to kill his soul,
With no respect, which all he’s earned.
An empty bottle to show it off,
Like a trophy of pride it lies in front,
His eyes to stare but no heart to call,
Making a reality of life in a world of hurt.
I want to give you a great big hug.
You’ve been there for me for no reason at all,
Still inside your shell of alcohol and carnage
Against yourself to hide away,
As I wait to see if maybe you will tell.

You slaughter yourself and I wont sit and watch,
Tell me all; I’d help more than you’d know.
I’d care more than you think with a little bit of heart,
And an open mind to guide your troubled soul.
Don’t disappear now, just open your eyes.
What is it in life that makes you so sad?
What is it that you’re not letting others see,
When your broken body is so very clear?

I’m here all hours of life; the day and night.
Don’t hesitate to write,
Be not afraid to open a little bit, your heart,
Because this is for you, Jake, all and all.
