Hit Tune Lyrics

by vexations

Mystery surrounds her
huddled behind hit tune lyrics
like lovers avoiding rain.
Her réaction émotive
impedes
any climb of stairways
to balconies
where vision clears,
where one can sit,
where spectators view life's game
as tourists on their trail.

Crawl
one step today,
one step tomorrow,
seven steps each week
until lyrics flow
as yoke from broken egg
not about her past,
not from her ache
not for her loss
not of him –
from her,
from her day
where she stands renewed
as leather from Merry Cobbler’s bench
where she lives lyrics her way,
where she huddles no more.
