Dreaming of You

When all the world drifts away
Into the simplest of slumbers
I lie here, awake in bed
You in my thoughts and my wonders

And I can't bear to shut my eyes
In the midst of my racing heat
I would have it no other way
My thoughts never from you depart

I can't think of a better way
For me to spend a night
Than for me to focus on you
And all these things gone right

Although when doing this so much
The occasional doubt slips through
It bothers me but a moment
I recall the great things about you

And jsut before I close my eyes
You're all that I can see
Guaranteeing a peaceful night
Filled with many pleasant dreams

And just before I fall asleep
A brilliant noise fills my head
It's the very sound of your voice...
Something sweet that you once said

These dreams get me through those times
When I'm away from you
And although it's just a dream
I can make it do

And only one thing on this earth
Betters dreaming of you each night
And that's actually seeing you
Holding you, you holding me tight

But until then...

When all the world drifts away
Into the simplest of slumbers
I'll lie here, awake in bed
You in my thoughts...
and my wonders...

and as always...

in my heart
