That used to be my problem too, but I moved to smoke once I saw a few of my loved ones and friends turn yellow and die. My hometown closely resembles springfield at times- alcoholism is endemic in my part of the world, but I've found other crutches in the meantime- my kids, writing and cannabis! Small poetry is so hard to write because you have to express so much in so little. You nailed it though, this poem was written with so little, but the emotion was so strong. I guess part of it is that I can relate a lot to the emotion in this poem but I just really loved the simplicity of it revealing the complexity of real life problems. Good work!- mumblebee
