The gray skies haunt
The world
Blanked in white
Leveled by immensity
Trees
Crystallized
A glimmer of hope
Revealed in melancholy

The voiceless awaken
Heed their words
A brackish lore
Forms a new persona
Winter reflects
Emotional carnage

Opposing poles
Vie for control
Day turns to night
Light becomes dark
Warmth runs cold
The cycle goes on
Without
My presence

A specter
Howls with the wind
Frolics with the snow
Mocks the sun
Imprisoning me
In a wintriness lair
