Improvised Rhyme, (from mind to monitor)

by spence

And so it came to me one day
'Just write away
Walk your way
Talk the thoughts that cause remorse
Improvise
Energise
Don't set yourself a pre-set course then you can't be led astray
Open up the page of your mind and write like there was no yesterday
And that tomorrow stretches on
Yawning forth to time to pass until the day you're gone
Don't seek solace
Don't be scared to ask
Just go for it
Just do it'

I'm loving it
If they can then why can't I?
I shall not be enslaved until the day I die
My thoughts are my own
I will not be their drone
That drones on and on and on and on...
Relentless mind control
I'm afraid I cannot stay
I have nothing left to say
Insecurities are mine no more
So don't place them in my way
I have felt the fear and awe
I have seen the way to war
I was taught and fought to keep in line
Like so many one's before

And then it came to me one day
'Just walk your own way
Walk away
Right away
Start again today'

I really like it! I call these "poetic ramblings" because its just random thoughts put down. I have a few of them....LOL
The last stanza is my fave, reminds me of me somehow.

I'd say a very successful experiement. It reads relaxed and reflective, mature and introspective... really well done, Lee. Enjoy your freedom, as I enjoyed reading this. Mary Ann

Fantastic Lee......it's like the way the Beats wrote.......Kerouac wrote 'On The Road' like this.

You know what's great about this...you can come up with some extraordinary poetry and stories just from free-writing. Don't think, just put your fingers on the keyboard and start tapping away.
