The Truth of Me

Of all the sought out kisses
that proceeded without any caution,
the ones that still linger are those
that only you imagine.

Your dry eyes abstract the truth,
as I know that heart of yours still wants me.
Excuse me for boasting this wicked pleasure,
for it’s a pleasure that you could barely instill in me.
And as you have said,
I’m full of a seductive apathy.

I ask you then,
if the words you describe me with
are none of which I would dare call an enemy,
do you still fall into that masochist state
of atoning for my actions?

You are at the border between
Love and Loathe
And I dare say that line is me,
Taunting, teasing, and luring
as you know that I’ve always been.
