Journey from Hell

I got a story to tell. A story about my journey from hell; See when I was young I found out that my mom was ho’ and my daddy sold dope. And to deal with these facts I decided to smoke crack. At first I thought I was in heaven but came to find out I was really in hell. For I became a crack’s slave; I’d do anything for it. I’d beg, and steal. I even sold my body for a five dollar bill. That little white rock owned my ass. I loved sucking on that glass. But I found redemption on the day I saw my friend die. As his eyes rolled back and he clinched his chest he still want one more hit of the pipe with his last breath. Now as I looked at him lying there I imagine myself and said I don’t want crack to be my last breath. So I feel to my knees and asked the Lord to set free and I been clean every since.

Note: This poem is not about me. It is a poem about the power of the Lord.
