No Such Thing

There is no such thing as perfect you know
So take all those ideals and just let them go

You can’t hold onto them and have something real
You can’t stay guarded and still pretend to feel

I will sense every lie
So spare us both
And don’t even try

Perfection is a state of mind
Perfection is so hard to find

The reason is that it can only exist
In the minds eye – don’t try to resist

The truth of the notion of where perfection can be found
Keep chasing perfect and I won’t be around
Because I don’t stand a chance against perfect

A well presented message Steph. In nature there are no straight lines but nature is perfection. As humans we live by the level and the square, and yet as you wrote 'perfection is a state of mind'

Kind of puts that old cliché to rest, “But for the grace of God go I.”

None of us are really as big as our shadows might project; it is better to look into the light and see ourselves for who we really are.
