The Bells

by MichaelFirewalker

yesterday
I heard bells
bells that I knew
as the bells of your soul
those most sacred sounds
I ever had known
recalled long ago
how deeply I’d
loved you

there’d been so much excitement!

such ringing of bells
when those first songs of Light
sang down the heavens
and danced in the white
champagne of Creation!

our own sparkling
attire had been
Love’s perfect Diadem

and I delightedly
watched you then
as you birthed baby stars
shooting them out
voluptuous fire

while Creation’s first flight
set star symphonies flowing
from Seven Rays’ growing
sheering off Clarity’s might
down translucent climes
where the Ophanim
and Seraphim glow

remember then
how closely I held you

I loved you so

It was later
on the raw tides of time
that yours was the heart
they tore out from my side
leaving half of our soul
half our wildfire to hold

it had had to be done
this duality mind
for all of the third
dimensional ones
we too had to become

but since that time
recalled long ago
I know how your thoughts
remained basically kind
while mine sank black low

for I’ve watched
countless millennia come
countless millennia go

and by now I’ve forgotten
how to have and to hold

here alone in the cold
at the high gates of time
stands this very old soul
with eyes nearly blind
wondering with silent resign
if ever or when your delicate hand
will warmly hold mine once again

I really liked how you made a pyramid of the first stanza. The poem itself is pretty thought-provoking, and I'm sitting here making the mythological connections, even if you didn't mean to imply anything.

"...continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus; that men speak not of Thee as One but as None;.../None, breathed the light, faint & faery, of the stars, and two./For I am divided for love's sake, for the chance of union."
