Garden

by orangetulips12

My depression
grows as weeds

In the flowerbed
in my garden

That I no longer
water or till

The rain comes
and brings relief

The sun shown bright
and dried the puddles

And the flowers blossom
for the first time
in years.

excellent karen. a comparison between a garden, and a soul. sometimes weeds produce beautiful flowers too...they just need more space. my garden is still partly icy, but there are many green shoots - paul.

Thank you for such a great poem. You are an inspiration to me, I will take out all the weeds in my garden, except one or two, and try to replace them with beautiful flowers.

usually people associate rain with depression, I love that you have turn the tables as it were.

I love the rain and do not find it depressing, but then i dont get rain year round either, the point is rain brings life followed up with a little sunshine and that is not depressing.

I enjoyed reading this.
