Gypsy Soul (a Villanelle)

Wanderlust caused me to roam
I lived the life of a gypsy
With never a place to call home

I loved the wonderful freedom
I was always where I wanted to be
Wanderlust caused me to roam

Sometimes I didn't have a comb
There was no one else to see
With never a place to call home

I found plenty of places to write a poem
I always kept my notes with me
Wanderlust caused me to roam

I found a place to write my tome
by the rocks down by the sea
with never a place to call home

Now I sit and watch the foam
I'll settle down here, maybe
Wanderlust caused me to roam
With never a place to call home.
