Moments of Stillness

by vexations

I can take her moments of stillness,
signs of complacency
that blight our love.

She doesn't rape my mind
with congeniality,
and routine rituals,
building a fraudulent peace.

I can entertain her
madness amid
my reaching,
my yearning.

She's not fickle.
like the yellow daffodil
that closes from the cold
and shrinks in the dark.

She mets my capricious moments
with effortless loyalty
oozing through her fingers
interlaced with mine
and finding places in me
I had never entered.
